When you’re a small business and trying to give your customers the best customer service you can, answering the phone is difficult. You wear all kinds of hats and are not in the office very much so you end up with a lot of voice mail messages.

Trying to get back to folks who leave voice mails is really a problem due to time zone differences. We tried forwarding the number to my cell phone but we live in a rural area and cell phone reception is extremely poor. If I have one bar, it’s a good day and to have two bars for a few minutes is exceptional… not good for voice communications when it’s all broken up and you can’t understand what the other person is saying… it’s frustrating for everyone on both sides of the conversation.

We can receive text messages fairly well so, when we were trying to come up with a solution to the problem and we came across a service that would allow us to receive texts on our business phone line, it seemed like it might be a good fit for us.

Right now we’re using a computer program to respond but should have apps on our cell phones shortly that will let us get back to you wherever we are, even if it’s only minimal cell service. We’re hoping this will enable us to give you a better level of service than we’ve been able to in the past. Superior customer service is our goal and we’re trying!
